LANSING, Mich. — Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey on Wednesday announced the addition of Abigail Walls as spokesperson and communications strategist. Walls will begin her new position March 29.
“Abby’s experience and expertise make her a perfect fit for this critical role of sharing the Senate Republican message with the people of Michigan,” said Shirkey, R-Clarklake. “She’s well-prepared to communicate our priorities of building healthier families and communities, a healthier economy and a healthier future. Her energy, expertise and passion will be a great addition to the team.”
Walls comes to the Senate after serving in communications roles for two House speakers and as communications director for John James’ campaign for the U.S. Senate. She has also worked for top national political communications firms, America Rising and FP1 Strategies.
Walls is a native of Dearborn and a graduate of Albion College. She currently resides in Lansing and is an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Jackson. She is an avid cyclist who has biked from Lansing to the Mackinac Bridge multiple times. Her goal is to bike 2,021 miles in 2021.
