Health policy expert, Danielle Devine, assumes new role as Director of Legislative Strategy
Lansing, Mich. — Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey today announced the addition of Danielle Devine to his office’s leadership team as Director of Legislative Strategy.
Devine ascended to the role from the Senate’s policy team, where she oversaw legislation related to healthcare and health policy. Most recently, Devine has served a key role in the Senate Majority Leader’s behavioral health integration plan currently moving through the Senate.
“Danielle has distinguished herself as a knowledgeable health policy expert and fierce advocate for the legislative priorities important to this caucus,” Shirkey said. “We are glad to count her among the members of this team and look forward to further applying her tremendous skills to the benefit of this institution.”
In addition to her work with the Michigan Senate, Devine has served in a variety of leadership roles working in healthcare operations. She brings with her hands-on knowledge of the healthcare industry, especially when it comes to serving those in most need of care.
Devine is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and a native of Hartland and the greater Metro Detroit Area.
Devine will work alongside Darin Ackerman in the Leader’s legislative affairs department. She will transition to her new role beginning today, Oct. 4.
