***MEDIA ADVISORY*** Shirkey to host town halls on ballot initiatives

Shirkey also hosting October coffee hour

LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Mike Shirkey, R-Clarklake, has announced that three public town halls to discuss the November ballot initiatives have been scheduled for the 16th Senate District throughout the month of October.

Shirkey also will be holding an October coffee hour.

Proposals 1 through 3 on the Nov. 6 ballot pertain to legalizing marijuana for recreational use, creating an independent citizens redistricting commission and creating state constitutional rights to certain voting policies.

All residents are welcome to come to the town halls to discuss the initiatives with Sen. Shirkey.

The town halls will be held at the following times and places:

Monday, Oct. 22
